RedHat Enterpise Linus 5.3 (64bit) Dual cpu 2048 mb ram virtual machines running on VMware ESX. uPortal runs on eight vm's which each host a single Tomcat. There is one VM for specific channel-apps and static contant and one CAS server VM. uPortal and CAS are build with and run on JDK 1.6
SSL for CAS is offloaded to a Cisco Content Switch which also loadbalaces the eight uPortals.
